Accessibility
Everyone should be able to learn about therapy and reach out for it, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, captions, magnification or other tools. If anything on this site gets in your way, tell me and I'll fix it or get you the information another way.
The standard I follow
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard used by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice for accessible websites.
What's built in
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA color contrast.
- Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Headings are in order, and images have text descriptions (decorative images are hidden from screen readers).
- Links and buttons say where they go or what they do.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% and the layout adjusts for phones and tablets.
- Moving elements can be paused with the pause button in the "As seen in" section. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off.
- The FAQ uses standard expandable sections that screen readers announce.
Known limits
- Booking, forms and telehealth run on SimplePractice, which I don't control. If you have trouble there, contact me and I'll schedule with you directly or send forms in another format.
- Blog posts are added over time. If an older post is missing a description or is hard to read, let me know.
Accessible care, too
If you need an accommodation to take part in therapy, just ask. Examples include captions during video sessions, phone sessions, forms in large print or read aloud, extra time, or a different way to get reminders. You don't need to explain why.
Ask for help or report a problem
Tell me the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use, if you're comfortable sharing. I'll reply within 2 business days.
